How do I define myself in a few paragraphs? I always ask the teens I work with this question, "Do you know who you are, your identity, and what you stand for?" We need to answer that because it drives our purpose.
Who is Kirsten? I am a dearly loved child of God, created by Him by design and my purpose is to live every day to His glory. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mom, aunt (tia), friend, teacher, counselor, mentor, encourager, and Youth Director. I have no desires for greatness, glory, or fame....my only goal is that I live my life to make an impact on those closest to me, that people would see Jesus through me. I fall short of that many times for I am a flawed and ordinary human, but through God's grace and mercy, I get innumerable "second chances."
For about five years I have tinkered with the idea of writing a blog...but to be honest, fear held me back. I like my thoughts--they are my thoughts, and I resisted with fear of comparison and criticism. And then I reminded myself of the quote that I hear many of my teens telling me they heard from me--a quote that guides many of the decisions in my life...."Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." So, here we go... taking a risk, sharing my world, hoping that those who read will feel encouraged, inspired, and touched.
